Black Angus turned his head up and gasped. His throat was swollen like somebody had stuffed it with sweat socks. He could barely breathe.

Rico Estavez ran into the stock room and slammed the door.

The stock room was in the center of the modified four bedroom crack house. It was reinforced with two feet of steel. A wall of Sony video monitors displayed the various rooms and exterior faces of the crack house. The cameras, being equipped for night vision, took in everything around the clock. He had spotted many a drug enforcement agent that way. Behind the Candy Man were boxes of supplies, food and ammunition.

Estavez lifted the well-oiled trapdoor to the exit tunnel. He’d be damned if he would be caught like a rat like those other stupid dealers. No policeman, Nancy Reagan or Geraldo Rivera would catch his butt.
